Lemon, Chive & Dill Sausage & Creamy Pasta
Time: 15 min Serves: 6-8
Ingredients:
- 2-4 links Breakaway Farms Lemon, Chive, Dill Sausage, cooked, sliced thin 
- 1lb pasta of your choice, cooked, drained 
Sauce Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons of butter 
- 1/2 medium sweet onion, finely diced 
- 1 tsp minced garlic 
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour 
- juice and zest of 1 lemon 
- 2 cups heavy cream 
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 
- 1/2 cup shredded fresh parmesan cheese, divided 
- 4 tablespoons of fresh dill, chopped (or 4 tsp. dried dill) 
- Salt & pepper to taste 
- Milk to thin sauce if needed (this is dependent upon your personal preference) 
Instructions:
- Melt butter in a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion & minced garlic and cook until onions are soft and translucent. Sprinkle flour into the pan and stir. 
- Add lemon zest & lemon juice, stir. 
- Slowly add heavy cream, stirring constantly while the sauce thickens (a whisk works well). 
- Stir in grated parmesan & half of the shredded fresh parmesan. 
- Add dill + salt & pepper to taste. 
- Toss the pasta and sliced sausage with the cream sauce. 
- Garnish with remaining shredded fresh parmesan cheese. Serve warm & enjoy!
