100% Grass Finished, Salad Bar Beef
why grass fed?
Besides being tender and tasty, grass fed beef is naturally much lower in fat, and thereby lower in calories than grain fed beef. While grass fed beef is low in saturated fat, it actually contains two to six times more omega-3 essential fatty acids, which play a vital role in your overall health and well being. Grass fed beef is also higher in cancer-fighting Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLAs), Vitamin E, and Beta Carotene.why our cows are unique
Our beef cows are 100% grass fed and enjoy lush grasses in summer and legume hay in the non-grazing months. We raise heritage breeds of beef because we’re particular about the quality of our meat. We breed our cows to Devon bulls, which are selected for their century-old physiologies that allow them to thrive in a grass fed program. Devon meat is prized for its high quality taste and texture.Devon cattle originate in the southern counties of England and are regarded as one of the oldest of the recognized beef breeds. They are also of international historical significance, as they are believed to have been brought into the Americas with the first white settlers on the "Mayflower". The Devon was known as a triple purpose cow to pioneer families, providing milk, meat and muscle in the form of oxen.
